Frequently asked

Frequently asked questions.

If yours isn’t here, call 616-367-5813 or email us. We’d rather answer it than have you wonder.

01

What is counseling?

A regular, confidential conversation with a trained professional — space to untangle what you’re carrying and build practical ways to manage it.

02

How do I know if I need counseling?

If you’re struggling with emotions, relationships, or daily stress, that’s reason enough — you don’t need a crisis to benefit from counseling.

03

What can I expect in my first session?

Mostly, your therapist listens. You’ll talk through what brought you in and what you’d like to change, plus enough background to get started. No preparation needed.

04

How long does each session last?

Each session typically lasts about 53–60 minutes.

05

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your needs and goals — some people come for a season, others longer. You and your counselor will decide together, and revisit as you go.

06

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. Your sessions are confidential, except in cases where safety is a concern or disclosure is required by law.

07

Do you offer online counseling?

Yes — we offer both in-person and online counseling options.

08

How do I make an appointment?

Call us at 616-367-5813, book online, or email us.

09

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

10

How much does counseling cost?

Costs vary based on the service and whether you are using insurance. We’ll provide details during your initial consultation — or see our self-pay rates and accepted insurance.
