In his words

You don’t have to carry it alone.

A lot of the people I work with feel exhausted from carrying inner tension that never seems to fully quiet down. Maybe your mind never stops moving. Maybe you’ve spent years feeling misunderstood because of ADHD, anxiety, depression, or trauma that others couldn’t see.

Or maybe your relationship with faith became tangled with fear, shame, perfectionism, or control, and now you’re trying to figure out what to hold onto, what to let go of, and how to trust yourself again.

Many of my clients grew up in environments where emotions were minimized, questions felt unsafe, or worth became tied to performance, obedience, or being “good enough.” Over time, this can create a painful sense of fragmentation, where one part of you longs for connection and peace while another part feels constantly overwhelmed, guarded, or disconnected from yourself.

Spencer’s approach to therapy

Not about fixing you — about helping you understand your story with compassion instead of shame.

Therapy with me is not about fixing you or forcing you into a version of yourself that feels performative. It’s about helping you understand your story with compassion instead of shame.

My approach is relational, experiential, trauma-informed, and deeply collaborative. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), AEDP, narrative therapy, and attachment-focused work to help clients reconnect with the parts of themselves that have been carrying fear, grief, confusion, anger, loneliness, or emotional exhaustion for a very long time.

Together, we make space for honesty — even the kinds of honesty that may have never felt safe before.

Orthodox-informed counseling

Thoughtful integration between emotional healing and spiritual life.

As someone deeply shaped by the Eastern Orthodox tradition, Spencer also offers Orthodox-informed counseling for individuals seeking thoughtful integration between emotional healing and spiritual life. He also leads our work in religious trauma & spiritual abuse.
